I've been a fan of ban.do for some time, and their new Black Label collection is definitely no exception. Who wouldn't love sparkly headpieces accented with large flowers and vintage trims. Below are some of my current favorites.

I was so incredibly excited when Noaki sent me her sister's wedding, I just had to share it with you! Photographed by the incredibly talented Max Wanger, this celebration took place at the Santa Barbara Zoo, which is such a beautiful and incredibly fun place to have a wedding. I am so smitten with all the details, and the way Max captured the highlights of the day.
Megan's jewelry is by Noaki, of course. =) Noaki's work is absolutely stunning. Definitely check it out, as she has added many new things to her shop.

I love the idea of using natural elements to decorate for a wedding or party. Tree branches to string crystals from, moss to add a little special something to a flower arrangement or pieces of cut wood to elevate a vase or cake stand. These are unexpected and very budget friendly ways to decorate. Not to mention, very eco-friendly! You don't necessarily have to have an outdoor theme wedding to use these elements. Table Talk

There are basically two different table setups you can do at weddings. That is long banquet style tables and round tables that fit anywhere from 8-12 people each. Of course, round tables make it easier to carry on conversations, but the long banquet tables allow for unique centerpieces and regal feeling seating arrangements. For a unique look, try a combination of both.

I am completely obsessed with this absolutely breathtaking wedding by Matthew Robbins of Artfool. I have to admit, I am a huge fan of anything Artfool does and this celebration was no exception. Photographed by Lilian Haidar, this wedding took place in Orvieto, Italy. I honestly can't think of a more lovely setting for a ceremony. That view is absolutely incredible and I love how Matthew brought the colors of the surroundings into the flowers and decor.

One of my favorite locations is the One and Only Palmilla Resort in Los Cabos. I think what I like most about this location is the small and sweet wedding chapel they have on the property. I also have to say, I absolutely love the title of the Bridal Soup post, "Shoot The Dress", instead of Trash the Dress. I've never been a fan of Trash the Dress sessions so this is a welcome alternative! Kudos to Steve Gerrard. =) See the full post here.

Color Palette: Navy and Green

Black and green have been a popular color palette for some time, but why not mix it up a bit, and replace black with navy blue? I love this combination and think it would be perfect for a wedding any time of the year. Black is a fairly limiting color, as far as spring and summer weddings go, but navy blue looks beautiful any time of the year. For the green, I love the idea of incorporating fruit to showcase the color, as seen on the board in the tomatoes, the pears on the cake, and the pears, apples and grapes in the centerpiece.

This wonderful wedding was shot by the talented Cameron Ingalls, and took place at Holland Ranch on the beautiful central coast of California. All the flowers were done by one of my favorite designers, Adornments. I simply love the colors and all the little details of this wedding.

Congrats to Jenn and Bryan who were married last weekend! For their invitation, they wanted something with an elegant garden feel for their outdoor celebration. Using embossed floral paper and rosemary tied with raffia, we created an invitation that was sure to get their guests excited about their upcoming nuptials. Jenn and Bryan were more than happy with their invitations and I wish them all the best!

Color Palette: Blue, Orange and Pink

This wedding is for one of our readers who is getting married in Mexico in November. Her venue is full of beautiful colors, so in order to not overwhelm the event, she has chosen to use pink and orange flowers as the accent colors. The blue is incorporated from the venue walls and floor. Below is the inspiration board I created for her.

Its easy to forget about the floor when you are planning a wedding or decorating your house. Most floors at weddings are mainly plain, however some ballrooms or rented floors have the classic checkerboard pattern. I absolutely love the look of these floors, especially when paired with the right colors. They add such an amazing feeling to a room or event space.

This color palette is for one of our readers. She is planning a Christmas time wedding and wanted to use lilac, light pink and silver as her colors. Below is the board I created for her with a few reception decor ideas for her celebration.

A few reception ideas
- A fun way to incorporate the silver into your reception decor would be to use vintage silver pitchers or other silver wares. You could put flowers in them, or just group them together.

- I've always loved elegant candelabras. These could go on dinner tables, or around the room for a romantic candle light effect.

- Placing a flower, or small arrangement at each place setting helps to decorate the table and make each setting a little special.

I was wondering if you could help me with a color palette for my daytime October 25th wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. My problem seems to be that I like too many color schemes and can't decide on one particular one! We're going to be serving paella as the main course meal. I saw this reception on Brides.com and just had to share. They have so many beautiful receptions on their website; definitely a great place to visit for some inspiration!
I love the way white was used here, and even though this is a mostly white reception it doesn't seem to get boring. The crystal makes it so elegant and the decor looks chic and sophisticated.

The Parker is one of my favorite hotels in Palm Springs; the grounds, the architecture and all that makes up this beautiful property. Amy is a southern girl that moved to the big city of NY where she met Evan - a city boy. They had their engagement party in the city but settled on having their wedding back in Charlotte NC where Amy's parents reside. The wedding ceremony was at Belk Chapel and the reception at Ballantyne Resort.

Planning A... Wedding Inspired by the Domino Book, part II

Welcome back to part II of this "planning a" post. Please check out part I, if you missed it. We are featuring a wedding celebration we designed for a contest (and won! =)) based on the Domino book cover. Up next are the florals and ceremony and reception. We'll finish it off on Wednesday with the color palette we designed for the event.

The Florals:
I wanted to incorporate the "branches" that are all over the domino book cover, and found thoughts these arrangements were perfect! (zoom in to see notes and image credits)

The Ceremony:
I wanted to keep with the organic feel, as well as incorporate some branches at the end of the aisle, maybe with some flowers and birds attached.

The Reception:
I envisioned a tent frame, strung with small lights or lanterns for the evening. Table arrangements in wooden boxed among branches.

Planning A... Wedding Inspired by the Domino Book, part I

I know when I originally launched this series, I said we wouldn't be covering entire weddings since its time consuming. However, this particular "wedding" I did for a contest on my favorite blog, Elements of Style. The contest was to design a room around the Domino book cover. Since Erin, writer of Elements of Style, has said that events are "temporary interiors" I decided to design a whole wedding, complete with invitation! Well guess what, I won the contest!! I was so surprised and thrilled!! In this 2 part installment of posts you'll see the wedding concepts from the invitation, right down to the reception. Enjoy!!

For the invitation, I wanted an elegant organic feel. The invitation is housed in a handmade canvas bag, tied with twine and labeled with each guests name.

The invitation suite takes inspiration from the domino book cover, with the birds and florals.

The Attire:
I thought clothing that was light and airy would be ideal. Also soft in color, in keeping with the overall feel of the celebration. (Click the board to zoom in)
